Governors Brown, Inslee To Meet With Chinese Delegation

Oregon Governor Kate Brown and Washington Governor Jay Inslee will meet privately with Chinese President Xi Jinping during his visit to the Pacific Northwest.

The governors of Oregon and Washington will be among a contingent in discussion with the president of China as he kicks off his state visit in the Pacific Northwest Tuesday.

Oregon's Kate Brown and Washington's Jay Inslee will meet privately with Chinese President Xi Jinping during his Pacific Northwest stop. They'll be joined by governors from California, Michigan and Iowa.

Earlier in the day they'll meet with six other Chinese officials including several provincial governors as well as the mayor of Beijing. That group will discuss ways to collaborate on clean technology projects such as energy efficient buildings and so-called smart electrical grids.

The Chinese president will also meet with the leaders of several tech firms while in Seattle before he heads to Washington, D.C., to meet with President Obama.
