A mysterious milky, white dirty rain has fallen across much of Eastern Washington and some of Oregon.
People from Spokane, Washington to Fossil, Oregon are reporting that their cars and windows are coated with the stuff. Here's how Anna King discovered it:
So I come out to my car to go to the post office. I get inside and I look through my windshield, only I can’t look through my windshield because it’s covered in crusty, milky white crud all over the windshield and all over my car. And so I started looking around for garbage trucks or street sweepers to see who splashed dirty, ugly water all over my car. But then I felt really silly when I got back to my desk and looked at Twitter, because everyone across Eastern Washington is experiencing the same thing.
The National Weather Service has been getting calls all day about the dirty rain. A meteorologist with the Pendleton office was not willing to speculate yet about the cause.
