At a press conference Friday morning Douglas County Sheriff John Hanlin repeated his vow about the Roseburg, Oregon, shooter who killed 10 people on Thursday.

"You will not hear anyone from this law enforcement operation use his name,” Hanlin said. “I continue to believe that those media and community members who publicize his name will only glorify his horrific actions. And eventually this will only serve to inspire future shooters."

Other law enforcement agents have identified the shooter as Chris Harper Mercer. He was killed yesterday in a confrontation with officers.

Federal agents have recovered more than a dozen weapons from the the scene of the mass shooting and from the shooter's apartment. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms said the guns were purchased legally.

Agents traced the gun purchases to one dealer. The ATF said the guns were all bought in the past three years.

Six guns and a steel-plated jacket were recovered from the scene.
