Oregon lawmakers are returning to the State Capitol Monday for a final round of prep work before the new legislative session begins. The list of meetings gives a glimpse into what lawmakers will discuss during 2017.

One committee will review findings from a statewide series of hearings into a possible transportation funding package. Another panel will discuss emergency housing programs and possible ways to stabilize rents. Another will debate whether to move forward with a proposal to create an oversight board for the Oregon Department of Energy.

Lawmakers will also get their first chance to discuss the recent budget proposal from Oregon Gov. Kate Brown.

This will be the final set of meetings for more than a dozen lawmakers who won't be returning next year. The next Oregon legislature will take the oath of office January 9.
