Oregon Supreme Court Justice Richard Baldwin will step down next spring. Baldwin had served as a trial court judge in Multnomah County for more than a decade when he was elected to Oregon's highest court in 2012.
It turns out he won't even complete his first six-year term in that role. According to the office of Oregon Gov. Kate Brown, Baldwin's retirement is effective next April. Brown’s announcement gave no explanation for Baldwin's decision to step down.
The governor will appointment a replacement to fill the remainder of Baldwin's term.
