Washington state officials are moving faster on a scheduled inspection of the amphibious fleet that had a vehicle involved in a fatal crash Thursday on the Aurora Bridge in Seattle.

The Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission inspected the Ride The Ducks fleet -- a comprehensive safety inspection -- back in 2012. Federal inspectors took a look at the charter bus company in 2013. Both companies got satisfactory ratings as a result of those safety reviews.

Ride The Ducks was actually scheduled for a new inspection next month because it had been about three years. That comprehensive safety inspection has now been moved up to next Monday because of this fatal accident.

Meanwhile, the Utilities and Transportation Commission will send two of its investigators to Seattle to inspect the two vehicles involved in this crash, both the Ride The Ducks vehicle and the charter bus.
